Independence day
Barbecue ribs, purple hull peas, tomatos with mayonnaise, peach cobbler and ice cream. Went to church and having a good tv nap! What better way to live?

A Beautiful Day
Well the wedding went off without any major problems. Mom and Dad made the trip here and I think they were very proud of another one of thier grandchildren. It rained about three times today right were we had it, oh by the way it was an outside wedding. Mom will have some pics in a few days. I am sure she will post some. Mom got to see what a real redneck was todayI dont think she knew.We were all glad to see them and how good they both looked like young children.

excited
Papaw is all excited about his family and thier accomplishments.Everything is happening this summer and I cannot get enough input from everyone. Close to home, Ethan is entering college, Karla graduates with honors and is getting married. Shawn is moving from emergency care to family practice. Patricia is moving to the country club while Jeff roams the world, Linda, Pat and Stephanie McConnel are moving back to the Nashville are. Linda is taking a new job.Melanie is buying her first home, Chris and Kim are taking on new Jobs and moving to Arlington Tx. And of all things, Robert and Kelley are possibly expecting a baby. Every one else seem to be doing fine and all are well.Hope I didnt miss anyone. I am filled with excitement. WHEW!!! DADDy

Moving again
Well Melanie closes on her Condo in Nashville the first week in July. Stephanie will move in with her the first week in August. It is beautiful. Construction is in the process right now so Mel is quite anxious about getting in her new place. Stephanie will continue to work at Walgreens, hopefully to get a store manager position soon. Melanie continues her work at the radio station in Marketing.
Pat likes his new job in Nashville. He is Service Manager over 3 locations, primarily working one location now. He will commute to home every weekend. I was announced as the new Associate Director for Patient Care Services/Nursing Service at the Mountain Home VA Medical Center in Johnson City, TN. I can look out my window from work there and the facility is located at the base of the mountains. We will be within a half hour of several beautiful mountain lakes. I can't wait to get there!!!! The money is good with a full move paid and relocation bonus so a great way to relocate to your retirement city on the government's tab. I will start work late July early August in TN. The government will buy my house if not sold in 60 days so we will purchase soon in Johnson City or a small town called Jonesborough located adjacent to Johnson City.
Steph claims the old boat. Pat took the new boat to TN last weekend. Pat is living in our RV in Nashville, just purchased satellite TV a mobile connection for internet, he has his deck, grill and boat. What else could a man want????
We thank God for our blessings! Especially with the economy.

More graduates
Well Karla didnt just graduate honors she graduated SALUTATORIAN of her class and then the scholerships came a rolling in. Thank God I finally did something right. But even that is only by the grace of God to which we owe all things. Pics will come later cause she took the camera to San Antonio for a senior trip.

Graduates
Looks like we have several "Wood Clan" decendants graduating this year. Ethan is the first...he graduated May 16th from Lamar high school with honors. He plans to attend Mississipi State University this fall.
