Happy Birthday Christian

Well I haven't put any news in lately, so here we go. Christian turned 2 on October 19 and here is a picture of him and his cake that his Aunt Mary made. We had a party at Spring Lake Park and his favorite gift was a set of drums. Everyone is doing fine except for Amanda (she is having morning sickness). Becky quit her job to take care of her Dad and I work straight days for now. Chris and Zach are staying at the house, Mary lives in Dallas, and Brandon,Amanda and Christian live in Texarkana. Hope everbody is doing fine and if you come this way, stop in to see us.

Noah

Noah has been busy so far this year!  He has begun soccer and Cub Scouts in addition to working hard in first grade.  His soccer team is 2-1-1 so far this year and he loves running every minute out on the field.  And much to our surprise there are two boys named "Noah" on the team.  After much anticipation he joined Cub Scouts as a Tiger Cub.  We are his den leaders and he just earned his Bobcat badge.  He is doing well in first grade and loves the math and learning to read.

12 days

Finally after 12 days we have power again.  Many in the area are still without and some have indefinite estimated times of when they will receive power again.  This is 100 miles north of the coastline!  My biggest fear of the approaching storm were the possible tornadoes that go along with hurricanes but it was the wind of the hurricane itself that caused so much damage.  The number of old oaks and pines that went down (taking power lines with them) is amazing.  We got to know the neighbors very well through all of this so there was some good out of it all.  Hopefully we will get back into our daily routines and life will go on as usual and we won't face another one of these storms again.

Mike

Momand Dad talked to Mike this morning and he is doing as well as expected. He had a double anterior and posterior fusion for his leg and back troubles. They got him up this morning and walked him down the halls. He says he can tell that it has improved leg movements already. Keep him in your prayers

Survived!!

Hi all,

Running on generator power at the moment and wanted to get a word out that we are doing fine.  No damage to the house but many of the neighbors weren't so lucky.  Still without power and word is that it will be after Monday because of extensive damage upstream.  Not something I ever want to go through again.  The weather has been a blessing and has kept everyone in pretty good spirits.  The schools are all closed for the week and will know more as power is slowly restored.  We have taken what we think are some amazing photos and hopefully soon will be able to share them.

Meridian News

Well--- good ole Sandy won't be with us much longer here in Meridian.  She has suffered with recurrent cancerous tumors and is now not going to live.  She is twelve and a half years old and sure has been a good one.  Erin decided to try to cheer us all up and give us some good news. She is expecting.  She is  not due until April 14th, so we have awhile to adjust to the term "grandparents" around here.

New Townhouse in Nashvegas!

Hello All, It's Melanie in Nashville!

The townhouse is coming along slowly but surely. I finally got everything put away and now Stephanie has moved all her stuff in. So we are starting over. My dog Gus is the happiest one in the house. New backyard, hardwood floors to slide all over on, and a new roommate to bother when I am not home.

Dad comes over every Thursday night to run my water bill up and do his laundry. Now for some crazy reason he has got it in his head that we have to have dinner for him as well. He'll learn quick that wont last long. But we do love having him around. Steph and I keep Maggie while he goes and visits Mom in Johnson City till they find their dream home. So this is when Gus is extremely happy, now he has another dog to play with 24/7.

Well, hopefully I will be able to figure out how to post pictures on here so you all can see my new house.

 Love you all!!!
